- Indian Ocean Tuna Commission holds its 15th Session in Colombo (The Galle Face Hotel No.2 Galle Road Colombo 03 Sri-Lanka, from 14-Mar-2011 09:00 AM to 22-Mar-2011 05:00 PM)
- The 15th Session of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission was started in Colombo yesterday morning. The session will be held from 18th to 22nd of this month. Over 250 delegates and observers from nearly 35 countries in the Indian Ocean Region and beyond, and representatives from major distant water fishing nations such as the European Union, Japan, Korea, France, Taiwan and China are attending the Colombo Session, being held at Galle Face Hotel, Colombo.

- Baseline of EAF Implementation in the SWIOFC Region Workshop (South Africa, from 21-Feb-2011 09:00 AM to 24-Feb-2011 05:00 PM)
- On 17-18 September, 2010 the EAF-Nansen project organised a post-survey meeting in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with ASCLME and SWIOFP projects. At the meeting a request was made to the EAF-Nansen project to assist the countries come up with a baseline for the implementation of the ecosystem approach to fisheries in the region. This work is to be done under the umbrella of the Scientific Committee of the SWIOFC. The Fourth Session of the SWIOFC Scientific Committee endorsed this request on grounds that this would assist the Commission to track the implementation of EAF in the region.
- Coastal States Meeting Nairobi - 15th February - Allocation Criteria Technical Commitee (Nairobi, Kenya, from 15-Feb-2011 12:00 AM to 15-Feb-2011 12:00 AM)
- There will be a Pre-IOTC technical Committee meeting dedicated exclusively to the coastal states on the 15th February in Nairobi. The objective of the meeting is assist the coastal to better understand the allocation issues, review the proposals on the table and harmonize positions.
